This celebration in honor of Lord Buddha the exalted one of His birth and His awakening is the most significant day of celebration in the Buddhist year.

On this special day, we offer our reverence to Lord Buddha, to all the enlightened masters, and to our GuruMa, as they are an example and inspiration for us that life in the highest consciousness is possible.

In this SatsangLetter for the month of March, we report on the festive weekend during which we celebrated Hanuman Jayanti on Good Friday and sang the Hanuman Chalisa 108 times throughout the night. Many people came to honor Hanuman and sang along from the bottom of their hearts for many hours; it became a night of great joy, the experience of which some Chelas describe below. On Easter Sunday, we sat in silence at the feet of our Master early in the morning by the fire in the Dhuni. Below, several Chelas share how this sacred silence touched them. Afterwards, we watched the film “Brother Sun, Sister Moon” with Ma—a movie we have been watching at Easter for many years, yet it always feels new.

A small temple to Baba

This drawing shows the temple that is to be built next spring as a place of remembrance for our beloved Satguru Sri Neem Karoli Baba. An altar will be erected inside it to preserve a small portion of the sacred ashes from His cremation site.

At Christmas, following Ma’s wish, the ashram donates a large part of the many offerings made to the temple to organizations that pass them on to families in need and to refugees in Ulm. For the children, Ma added these beautiful plush toys.

The colorful bags filled with Christmas treats were hand-painted during seva – voluntary service – by Ma’s chela and visitors to the ashram.

Above all rests BABA’s loving eye.

Aarti Times Returning to Previous Schedule

Namaste dear Gurubhai and visitors to the Ashram,

after changing the aarti time to 20:30 last week, it has become clear that the previous schedule allowed more visitors to come to the Ashram for aarti and also to participate via livestream.

For this reason, beginning Saturday, November 22, we will return to the previous times: on Tuesdays and Fridays, we will celebrate aarti at 20:30 in the Baba Mandir, following Hanuman Chalisa or kirtan. On all other days, aarti will take place at 18:00 in Brindavon Ashram.

Only during celebrations and on Bhakti weekends, when Ma gives Darshan, will the Saturday aarti also take place at 20:30 in the Baba Mandir.

New Year's Eve

Every celebration in the Ashram is part of our spiritual practice, through which we strive to reawaken our awareness of the True Self—the Divine Nature residing in all beings.
Some people experience access to this higher being very directly in Ma’s presence, and so we look forward to celebrating New Year’s Eve with Ma.
