Verse of the Year
Since the first Ashram “Hanuman House” was established in 1994, Durgamayi Ma has been celebrating New Year’s Eve together with her devotees.
At the turn of the year 2003/2004, Ma released a large glowing balloon into the night sky, carrying Ma’s wish for everyone:
“A love that never fades, for all people on this earth!”
This moment inspired the first verse of the year—“Gratitude is the key.”
From 2023 onward, with a growing number of English speaking visitors and devotees, Ma has been giving a verse of the year in English too.
It inspires our daily practice and highlights the inner power and perspective we aim to embody in the current year. The verse is printed on beautiful colored paper and framed. Every frame is blessed by Ma’s own handwriting.
At this year’s New Year’s Eve celebration—on the Schweibenalp—my chela dispatched a wondrous, luminous, giant balloon into the vast sky of our Earth, adorned with a wish from your MA that gave expression to my deepest longing for all people.
On it was written: A love that never fades, for all the people of this Earth! This is the wish of your MA for the coming year—let it into your heart and feel gratitude that there is someone in your life who wishes something so incredible for you with all her heart.
