Ashram – A Place of Practice
Durgamayi Ma Ashram e.V. is the registered non-profit association responsible for the two ashram — the Sri Neem Karoli Baba Mandir and Ashram Brindavon. Inspired by Ma’s presence and work as a spiritual master, it was founded by her devotees in 1997.
Ma dedicated both ashram to her Guru, Sri Neem Karoli Baba, whom she met in India in 1973, during his lifetime. They are places of communal spiritual practice, inner contemplation, and encounter with Ma.
Baba, the Source
Neem Karoli Baba is Ma’s Guru — a great saint who taught and embodied love, devotion, and service to God and humanity. Deeply inspired and sustained by her encounter with Baba, Ma was able to follow the longing in her heart and attain enlightenment and her own liberation.
Out of a deep desire for an authentic life, Durgamayi Ma traveled to India. In her first encounter with Baba, she experienced a human being who had found just that.
The Ashram in Ulm and Neu-Ulm
Eight years after Baba’s Mahasamadhi, Ma herself attained liberation. As more and more people began coming to her as their spiritual master, a small ashram was first established in Radelstetten, near Ulm. In 1998, the newly founded association was able to purchase a large house in the eastern part of Ulm — Ashram Brindavon, which opened in 1999.
Over time, Ashram Brindavon, too, became too small. With Baba’s and Ma’s blessings, the association was able to acquire a beautiful, spacious building in Neu-Ulm in 2019. In honor of her beloved master, Ma named the new ashram Sri Neem Karoli Baba Mandir and inaugurated it in 2021.
Community and Satsang
The association and the two ashram are sustained by a community of Ma’s devotees. Some of them live at Ashram Brindavon, while many live outside the ashram, in Ulm and throughout Germany. Together, they form the Satsang — the spiritual community united through Baba and Ma, their Satguru and their Guru.
The Satsang also provides mutual support and a space to share experiences and insights from the spiritual path.
How the Ashram is Sustained
Durgamayi Ma Ashram e.V. is a registered non-profit association. It is sustained and funded through event contributions and donations from disciples and visitors.
The association also includes a supporting association in which the Satsang is organized. It supports the Ashram not only financially, but also through active service — by helping to maintain the ashram, decorating the temples, preparing food for larger occasions, and much more.
The ashram also includes the Ashram Shop, which likewise contributes to the financial support of the Ashram through a carefully selected range of gifts, meditation supplies, and a lovely second-hand section.

Visiting the Ashram
The ashram is open to everyone. There are regular opportunities to visit: Darshan — the encounter with the spiritual Master Durgamayi Ma — the singing of Kirtan and Hanuman Chalisa, and a daily Aarti.
