A small temple to Baba

This drawing shows the temple that is to be built next spring as a place of remembrance for our beloved Satguru Sri Neem Karoli Baba. An altar will be erected inside it to preserve a small portion of the sacred ashes from His cremation site.

When Baba left His body in September 1973, Ma and her late husband and companion Vishnu Digambar (✝ 2009) were present in Brindavan with many other devotees. Both were deeply moved as they witnessed Baba’s physical body being cremated in the courtyard of His ashram, as is traditional in India. Vishnu took a small amount of ashes from the fire and brought them back to Germany with him when he returned from India.

Since the beginning of the first ashram in Ulm Dham, the ashes have been kept in the temple and, at Ma’s request, they will now be given their own place in the garden of Sri Neem Karoli Baba Mandir.
