Vesakh

Vesakh is the highest day in Buddhism in honor of Gautama Buddha, his birth and his enlightenment.
Before meeting Sri Neem Karoli Baba in 1973, Durgamayi Ma studied with Sri Satya Narayan Goenka and learned the art of meditation from him. This is why we celebrate this day in honor of Buddha every year at the ashram - in gratitude for his teaching, which was an important part of Ma’s path to liberation and continues to be for many people around the world.

We are what we think.
All that we are arises with our thoughts.
With our thoughts we make the world.
